11th Hour Racing adds in-port race title to Ocean Race wins

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Newport’s 11th Hour Racing Team claimed a double victory in both the The Ocean Race and the In Port Race Series on Saturday.

The team, the only one representing the United States this year, sailed easily across the finish line at the Grand Finale in Genova, Italy.

The victory is added to their overall victory of the Ocean Race with 37 points and 3 leg wins.

Skipper Charlie Enright spoke with ABC 6 News after winning the fourth leg of the race in Newport in May.

The victory did not come without challenge, as competitor Guyot Environment crashed into the 11th Hour Racing boat causing “catastrophic damage.”
