LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — Kirkbrae Country Club is now hosting events in its banquet rooms again after it was damaged by a fire in May.

Kirkbrae staff said the ballroom is completely open.

Staff said the entire club is open, and some areas are still under construction.

“The reconstruction efforts have been a seven day a week endeavor for the past four-plus months and we are happy to say that we met our target reopening date of October 1st,” said Kirkbrae COO Mike Bradshaw.

“We are extremely grateful for the efforts of all who were all so instrumental in meeting this deadline. If you think back to May, many thought we would not be able to be open this soon, but with the collective work of our amazing professional partners we are able to reopen the ballrooms today,” Bradshaw said. “We look forward to once again welcoming our corporate, social and wedding clients as they join us in the coming days and months to once again spend their most special of days here at the club.”

The club will be open for members only on Thanksgiving.

A fire broke out at the club just before Memorial Day Weekend, disrupting plans for about 100 special events and dozens of weddings.

The fire started in the loading dock into the kitchen, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
