Former councilman Reilly court date moved again

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Former Cranston councilman Matt Reilly did not appear for his arraignment as scheduled in Providence Superior Court Thursday for a drug possession charge.
Reilly’s arraignment date was moved to Thursday, Jan. 25, according to online court records. He also has a pre-trial conference set for March 5.
Reilly’s court appearances have been pushed back several times.
He has been embattled since a Cranston police officer found him semi-conscious in a parking lot in his car in May.
Reilly was found in possession of a lighter and a glass pipe which tested positive for crack cocaine and fentanyl by Cranston police.
The interaction was recorded on a police body camera.
Reilly stepped down as councilman and as chair of Cranston’s Republican party.
Reilly is also facing charges relating to an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
Reilly was charged and arraigned in June with first degree child molestation sexual assault, second degree child molestation sexual assault, and enticement of a person under 16.
Reilly was the legal guardian of a 12-year-old girl who filed a complaint against him.
The minor is unrelated to Reilly.
