RI Division of Taxation reminds Rhode Islanders July 15 is deadline tax filings and payments

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Division of Taxation reminds taxpayers and tax professionals, July 15 is the deadline for filings and payments that involve Rhode Resident and nonresident personal income tax returns for the 2019 tax years.
The deadline is just two weeks away.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, a postponement was given to taxpayers, moving the deadline from April 15 to July 15.
Anyone who has not filed yet is advised to file electronically. E-filed tax returns are processed more quickly than paper returns. In addition, there fewer errors, and the electronic options allows you to have your tax refund deposited directly into your bank account if filed completely and accurately.
No late charges will apply to filings and payments that are made on or before July 15, 2020.
