RIDOH reports 53 new cases, 2 additional deaths Tuesday

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health reports 53 new coronavirus cases and 2 related deaths Tuesday.

This brings the new state total to 22,002 cases and 1,050 deaths.

Currently 81 people remain hospitalized for the virus, with 8 in the ICU, and 5 requiring a ventilator.

The state has conducted 530,488 tests for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Governor Raimondo will address the state again Tuesday and is expected to discuss testing in schools K-12.
