Tiverton High School student tests positive for COVID-19

TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) – A student at Tiverton High School has tested positive for COVID-19.

Superintendent of Tiverton Public Schools, Dr. Peter Sanchioni, confirmed the case to ABC6 News on Thursday.

Dr. Sanchioni said 23 students are in quarantine along with two staff members at the high school.

In an email to the school community, Principal Chris Ashley wrote that the student will be quarantining at home for 14 days, and those students deemed close contacts who were ordered to quarantine will do distance learning during the time.

Tiverton High School is remaining open.
