Frog and Toad hand-delivers first one hundred masks to Providence schools

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A popular Providence gift shop donated their first one hundred masks to Providence public school students in need on Wednesday.

ABC 6 News was there as the owners of Frog and Toad, Asher and Erin Schofield, handed out the masks to children at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School as part of their ongoing donation drive. For every one of their “PVD Love” masks that they sell, they donate another one to a public school student.

The students opened the mask packages with excitement on the school’s front steps.

They were cheering, waving their hands, and posing for the camera with their new masks.

“We heard that Asher and Erin were going to be doing this for our school. Frog and Toad is part of our community here and we’re just so thankful for them to be able to do this,” Principal Kristen Lussier said.

The owners of Frog and Toad planned to keep donating masks to every public school in Providence until the mask requirement was lifted.
