URI offers COVID-19 vaccinations to students, faculty, and staff this weekend

KINGSTON, R.I. (WLNE)- All members of the University of Rhode Island community will be able to get their COVID-19 vaccine this weekend.

On April 24-25, all students, staff, and faculty will be able to get their shot at the State-run facility at the Schneider Electric building between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A shuttle will run from the Memorial Union bus circle to the Schneider Electric vaccination site continuously on both days.

The University said over the past month, they have found more contagious variant strains of COVID-19 on the Kingston Campus. Samples of these strains are being tested at the Broad Institute, in collaboration with the University’s Department of Health State Health Laboratories.
