PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 316 new coronavirus cases for Wednesday. This week’s percent positive rate is down slightly, from 3.6 percent to 3.4 percent.

The DOH confirmed two deaths on Wednesday, bringing the state’s total to 2,762.

There are 123 total people hospitalized for the virus. Twenty-three are in the ICU, and 12 are on a ventilator.

Rhode Island remains in the high transmission category, with 177.1 new cases per 100,000 people in the past week.

So far, 745,713 Rhode Islanders have been partially vaccinated, and 680,559 have been fully vaccinated.
