Embattled former city councilman facing drug, child molestation charges given bail
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An embattled former Cranston councilman appeared in court on Wednesday morning for charges on child molestation and drug use behind the wheel.
Matthew Reilly was given $10,000 bail in Providence Superior Court.
He signed a waiver of extradition which comes with a general no contact order, specifically no unsupervised contact with minors. Reilly will also pursue treatment for drug rehabilitation.

A month later, he was hit with child molestation charges after a legal guardian of a child filed a complaint against Reilly.
