TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Just one week after a Tiverton Restaurant posted a since-deleted anti-Semitic meme on social media, a Holocaust victim is coming to speak.

Rep. John Edwards (D-70, Tiverton) announced Friday that he will be hosting a Holocaust education program Monday.

The program is called “Stories of Survival” and will take place at the Tiverton Public Library at 6 p.m.

Holocaust victims and children of Holocaust victims will share stories.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Atlantic Sports and Bar located on Shove Street posted a meme Friday talking about the recent heat wave in the region, with a picture showing Anne Frank.

The Facebook post had a picture of Anne Frank with a text that read, “It’s Hotter than an oven out there…. And I should know!” and the caption “#Ohboy” to go along with it.

The restaurant has since issued an apology and have faced backlash.
