Hundreds of voters show up for first early voting weekend in New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – Nearly 600 voters showed up to cast their ballots at the New Bedford Free Public Library for the first weekend of early voting in Massachusetts.
ABC 6 News spoke with some voters who said the came to vote to avoid the long lines in November, while others wanted to avoid issues related to COVID.
“We were afraid that something would happen. COVID cases are on the rise right now, we didn’t want to be sick and not be able to go. So, we did it today while we’re feeling healthy,” Joyce Calnen said.
Early voting continues in Massachusetts through Oct. 30.
