K-9 Blue sworn in as Tiverton’s first comfort, therapy dog

TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Tiverton Police Department announced Tuesday night that K-9 Blue was officially sworn in for duty as the official comfort and therapy dog.

A swearing in ceremony for the pup was held with with his handler, Officer Shaun Wilson, town officials, and comfort and therapy dogs from neighboring departments.

Blue came from Boonefield Labradors and is the first comfort and therapy dog at the police department.

Blue has been out and about in the community he will serve, visiting students at Tiverton High School and going to a concert at Bulgarmarsh Park in his first week.
