Mass vaccination site opens at Fenway Park

BOSTON, M.A. (WLNE) — The Bay State’s second mass vaccination site is now open at Fenway Park and beginning Monday, seniors over the age of 75 can get vaccinated.

The site is run by CIC Health out of Cambridge, who also runs the Gillette Stadium site.

Health officials say the Fenway location will be able to vaccinate up to 1250 people per day by mid February.

“If we can push it further, we’ll try,” said Edward Ullman of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, who is helping out with operations.

“We’re doing as much as we can, as fast as we can to help the greater good,” Ullman said.

The opening of the Commonwealth’s second mass-vaccination site coincides with Governor Charlie Baker’s announcement that the state is working quickly to set up a call center to help with sign-ups.

“We’re late,” Governor Baker said Thursday in regard to the roll-out of a call center. “But we’re getting pretty good at [quick set up],” he said.

CIC Health says the goal of the mass vaccination sites is to get people in and vaccinated as quickly as possible. They say the only wait people should expect is the 15-30 minute observation period after receiving their injections.
