PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Governor Dan McKee announced Tuesday Rhode Island’s new mask guidelines will go into effect Friday.
Along with the Department of Health, the Governor announced fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask outdoors, except while in crowded areas and venues.
The policy will go into effect Friday, April 30.
“I hope today’s updated guidance from the CDC will encourage even more Rhode Islanders to get vaccinated,” said Governor Dan McKee said Tuesday.
“Vaccinated people have more flexibility when it comes to when and where they are recommended to wear masks. There are vaccination appointments available today. Don’t miss your shot.”
To be considered “fully vaccinated” you must have wait 14 days after your final recommended dose. The state described a crowded setting as “one where someone cannot consistently maintain three feet of distance.”
