RI reports 156 new cases of COVID-19, 5 additional fatalities

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health announced Tuesday that there have been 156 new positive cases of COVID-19, and five additional deaths.
This brings the State’s death toll to 1,164.
RIDOH reported that 5,558 tests were taken on Monday, with a 2.8% positive rate.
There are currently 135 Rhode Islanders fighting the virus in the hospital. Out of these 135, 16 are in ICU, and six are on a ventilator.
The total positive cases in Rhode Island totals to 28,649.
