RI reports 230 cases of the coronavirus, 7 additional fatalities

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Health officials in Rhode Island reported 230 new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday.
The Department of Health said out of the 9,394 tests taken on Monday, the state collected a 2.4% positivity rate.
Seven Rhode Islanders died due to the virus, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,583.
There are currently 132 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Of these patients, 18 are in the ICU and 16 are on a ventilator.
According to RIDOH, 118,021 Rhode Islanders have been fully immunized.
The Rhode Island COVID-19 Vaccine Subcommittee met Tuesday morning and shared details of the state’s vaccination rollout and timeline.
It was said that weekly the state is currently getting about 15,000 first doses of Pfizer’s vaccine and about 13,000 second doses, and 10,800 first doses of Moderna’s vaccine and 10,800 second doses.
