RI reports 318 new cases of COVID-19, 3 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Rhode Island health officials reported 318 new positive cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday.

Additionally, the state reported three additional deaths since Tuesday. These three fatalities bring Rhode Island’s death toll to 2,559.

The Department of Health said out of the 16,962 COVID-19 tests taken on Tuesday, a 1.9% positivity rate was collected.

There are currently 142 Rhode Islander’s hospitalized for the virus.

21 patients are in the ICU and 16 are on a ventilator.
