RIDOH reports 1,779 new cases of COVID-19, 27 additional deaths since Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health released the latest coronavirus data on Monday.
Since Friday, the state reported 1,779 new cases of COVID-19.
Health officials said there have been 27 coronavirus-related deaths since the last report, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,110.
According to RIDOH, 347 people are hospitalized for the virus. 50 of those patients are in the ICU and 33 are on a ventilator.
Out of the 7,994 tests taken the previous day, the state reported a positivity rate of 3.8%.
Since December 14, 59,259 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. There are 14,735 Rhode Islanders that are fully vaccinated.
