RIDOH reports 228 new cases of COVID-19, 5 deaths since Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health released the latest coronavirus data on Monday.
The state reported 228 new cases of the virus and 5 additional deaths since Friday.
Rhode Island’s death toll now stands at 2,613.
Out of the 4,777 tests taken the previous day, RIDOH reported a 4.8% positivity rate.
There are currently 117 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. 16 of these patients are in the ICU and 7 are on a ventilator.
A total of 331,805 people have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and health officials said 212,059 Rhode Islanders have been fully vaccinated.
