RIDOH reports 2,454 new COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths since Friday

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 15 COVID-19 related deaths on Monday since the data was last released on Friday.
This pushed the state death toll to surpass 1,300 on Monday with the 15 newly reported deaths.
RIDOH data also indicates that 2,454 new coronavirus cases were added on Monday since Friday.
Rhode Island has now seen more than 50,000 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, according to RIDOH data.
RIDOH also reported a record single-day high of 23,504 tests that were administered in Rhode Island on Friday.
As of Monday, 285 people are in the state’s hospitals due to COVID-19 complications. Out of the 285 people in the hospital, 30 are in the ICU, and 14 need a ventilator.
Hospitalizations trickled down a bit in Rhode Island from 310 to 285.
Rhode Island’s all-time high for COVID-19 hospitalizations was 377 back in late April.
Gov. Gina Raimondo’s two-week pause will begin on Monday, Nov. 30.
However. in the meantime, Gov. Raimondo last week reduced the social gathering limit to members of a single household which is currently in effect for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The governor’s next briefing is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m.
Starting the week of Nov. 30, the briefings will be held on Thursdays at 1 p.m.
