RIDOH reports 2,918 new COVID-19 cases, 9 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 2,918 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

Health officials said out of the 23,334 tests administered the state collected a 12.5% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported 9 additional deaths, bringing the state’s total to 3,224.

There are currently 532 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 44 of these patients are in the ICU while 31 are on a ventilator.
