RIDOH reports 618 new cases of coronavirus, 9 deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health released the state’s latest coronavirus data on Wednesday.

The state reported 618 new cases of COVID-19. Out of the 18,678 tests administered on Wednesday, the positivity rate was 3.3%.

RIDOH reported 9 coronavirus-related deaths on Wednesday, marking the state’s death toll at 2,144.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 335 Rhode Islanders are hospitalized.

Of those hospitalized, 47 patients are in the ICU while 31 are on a ventilator.

So far, 21,880 Rhode Islanders are fully vaccinated.
