RIDOH reports 698 new cases of the coronavirus, 18 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health announced the state’s latest COVID-19 data on Thursday.

RIDOH reported 698 new positive cases of the virus, and an additional 18 deaths.

The state said 20,079 tests were taken on Wednesday, with a positivity rate of 3.5%.

There are 379 Rhode Islanders currently hospitalized with the virus, 51 people are in the ICU and 36 are on a ventilator.
